Çoruh River  : The Çoruh valley lies within the Caucasus ecological zone, which is considered by the World Wild Fund for Nature and by Conservation International as a biodiversity hotspot. The Çoruh Valley is recognised by Turkish conservation organisations as an important plant area, an important bird area, a key biodiversity area and has been nominated as a high priority area for protection. This valley is rich in plants and contains 104 nationally threatened plant species of which 67 are endemic to Turkey.

The Çoruh has been called "an eco-tourism gem" and "Turkey's last remaining wild river", and is being promoted for whitewater kayaking by the Eastern Anatolia Tourism Development Project. It attracts kayakers and rafters from all over the world and was the site of the 2005 Coruh Extreme kayak competition.

Çoruh River flows through spectacular canyons and narrow fertile valleys or orchards and tiny paddy fields, past ancient ruined castles all set against a backdrop of magnificent rugged mountains and traditional village life virtually untouched by tourism.

We offer five-day guided rafting expeditions which start and finish in Erzurum and take in spectacular canyons, narrow valleys, ruined castles and the class-five rapids of the Ispir gorge. No rafting experience is required, you just need to be reasonably fit and able to swim.

Course : A trip down the River Coruh starts at Bayburt, passing through Ispir and Yusufeli and onwards to Artvin, a distance of approximately 260km in four different sections.

From Bayburt to Ispir : 0-106 km - From Ispir to Camlikaya : 106-134 - From Camlikaya - Tekkale : 134-178 km - From Tekkale - Artvin : 178-261 km
